Mahalo! Assuming you have always dreamt of that particular island vacation but never really managed to save up the right amount of money to take off, here is something that you might be interested in, a day at Hawaii. Of course, thanks to Google’s Street View capability, you never need to leave your computer in order to pay a visit to Hawaii, but then again, it would also mean not having being able to feel the sand as well as sea breeze in your face as you sip on a pina colada. From today onwards, you are able to take a trip to the Aloha state and explore other places of interests in Hawaii, where among them include hiking trails, parks, historical sites, and beaches, thanks to View on Google Maps.
The Trekker Loan Program was announced last summer alongside Google’s first partner, the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB). It has taken some time, but the HVCB has been doing their bit to collect Street View imagery of plenty of the popular and special places throughout the islands of Hawaii (the Big Island) and Oahu. You will be able to see the best of the spectacular Hapunua Beach, the Kilauea Iki Trail, the Pu’u Loa Petroglyphs, and more. [Press Release]
