Toshiba has just announced a spanking new Canvio Wireless Adapter peripheral that will definitely add more usability to the traditional external hard drive by turning those into networked storage devices. The Canvio Wireless Adapter might be simple, but it is a powerful innovation which is capable of augmented the standard external hard drive with wireless networking capabilities, opening up the door for users to share, stream and access their content from any place, regardless of the device.
Just how does the Canvio Wireless Adapter work? All that you need to do is hook up the adapter to an external hard drive and a USB power source, tablet or smartphone, and you’re good to go. Android and iOS apps are available to facilitate your usage. You will be able to share content to up to eight other devices simultaneously, and can be used in a variety of settings, ranging from hotel rooms to dorm rooms, and even when you are on the move. Apart from that, users will also be able to play and enjoy their entire digital media library that are stashed away on an external hard drive through the streaming process to a tablet or smartphone.
