samsung-galaxy-s4-review-037

Its a good day for people with a T-Mobile Galaxy S4. Earlier today reports started coming in that Magenta had finally rolled out Android 4.4.2 update for last year’s Samsung flagship, and that is indeed true, the carrier’s support website has been updated to reflect the same. T-Mobile Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.2 update is out now, users should expect to receive a notification on their device.

Even if they don’t receive a notification immediately, the alternative way is to check manually through the settings menu. Often the notification doesn’t show up but the manual check does the trick. The Samsung Kies software can also be used to download the update. It should be kept in mind though that the update rolls out in stages, so its quite possible that even the manual check might not yield the required results in some markets. The full roll out usually takes a couple of days to complete.

Weighing in at 400MB, the update brings all the bells and whistles we have come to expect from Android 4.4.2. Nominal user interface tweaks are included as well as security fixes and performance improvements. Some users have been complaining about long download times, that could be due to the download servers being hammered by the surge in traffic.
