However there are some out there who might feel that he’s not doing as good a job as his predecessor, and in the past we have heard rumors about how Apple’s board of directors wanted to replace Cook with someone else for the CEO position.
There have also been talks about Cook being pressured to be more innovative, and there are also big industry names like Larry Ellison who has a pessimistic view of Apple without Steve Jobs at the helm. However if there is one supporter of Cook, it would be Steve Wozniak, one of the co-founders of Apple from back in the day.
Participating in a discussion at CeBIT 2014, Wozniak was asked as to whether he agreed with analysts who were calling for Cook to be fired after Apple’s stocks had dropped by 25% since October 2012. His answer was a big no.
“I don’t agree. Cook [hasn’t] been at the helm of Apple for a long enough time. We haven’t seen what new categories of products are being developed secretly. Who knows what’s going on in the company.” He later adds, “Tim Cook is a hard worker and he is very good at execution. I don’t know him too closely. But, I’m willing to wait for a longer time.”
While Cook has not specifically revealed any new or secret projects that Apple is working on, he has in the past hinted at entering into new product categories, leading us to think about rumored products like the iTV and the iWatch.
