This highly anticipated Steve Jobs movie is going to be based on the Apple legend’s official biography written by Walter Isaacson. Ever since its rights were acquired a couple of years back there has been much speculation about who will portray Steve Jobs. A recent Jobs biopic, starring Ashton Kutcher in the lead, was slammed by critics and failed to resonate with viewers. All eyes are on the second biopic, and most of us find solace in the fact that its being written by Aaron Sorkin. According to latest reports, Christian Bale might be cast to play Steve Jobs.
Recently it was reported that David Fincher is in talks to direct this movie. Sorkin and Fincher have worked together in the past as well, on the acclaimed Facebook drama The Social Network. The Wrap reports that Christian Bale is Fincher’s first and only choice, meaning that its possible he won’t direct unless its Bale in the lead.
Obviously it remains to be seen if Bale actually takes the role, according to reports, he hasn’t been officially approached as yet. Casting is expected to be finalized within the year as the movie is set to start filming in 2015. It goes without saying that we still have to wait for a long, long time before the hopefully good Steve Jobs movie hits the big screen.
