South Park Censored Scenes Deleted From Disc

It pays to tread on eggshells when it comes to game releases, as you can never quite tell just which particular group you are going to offend should the in-game material of choice happen to be controversial to some. We have learned that South Park’s censored scenes have been removed from disc itself in order to avoid plunging into another potential ‘Hot Coffee‘ situation, which would be a hot potato that is not worth handling. So far, the alleged producer touted that five versions were created for different territories, with the North/South American release being the only version that is “completely uncensored on every platform”.

For other regions, South Park: The Stick of Truth’s censored scenes have been removed totally from the disc so that there is no chance for a repeat of a ‘Hot Coffee’ situation. Bear in mind that this is a rumor of sorts, since the comments were made by an alleged associate producer of the game over on Reddit, which has since been removed.

The alleged producer mentioned, “Only the North/South American one is completely uncensored on every platform. The Australian one is censored on all platforms, the European and Russian ones are censored on console only, and the German one is censored on console for anal probing etc as shown in this screenshot, and censored on both console and PC for swastikas, Heil Hitler arm salutes, etc. To avoid a ‘Hot Coffee’ type situation, the 20-second-or-so gameplay/cutscene is removed completely from the disc and replaced with the screen you see at the link (times 6 more 20-second scenes).”
