According to our report from earlier, it was suggested that the Sony Xperia Z2 might be facing some delays. The rumors suggested it could be due to supplier issues and later the removal of the pre-order button on Sony’s website seemed to confirm that.
Well it turns out that the rumors were false, thanks to a recent statement that Sony had released to the folks at XperiaBlog. According to Sony, “We’re seeing particularly strong demand for Xperia Z2 across all of our distribution channels. As with all of our product launches, global rollout is phased across markets and channels. Consumers will be able to get Xperia Z2 in the UK starting from April.”
However it should be noted that the removal of the pre-order button could signify that Sony might have limited quantities of the Xperia Z2 in stock, so if you missed out on the chance to place your pre-order on Sony’s website, you’ll have to try your luck at your local retailer or local carrier if you wanted to get your hands on the handset.
Sony Xperia GB confirmed this on their Twitter when they tweeted in response to a customer, “Due to current stock levels, the Estore are currently not taking any more pre-orders at this moment in time.” It is safe to say that the Xperia Z2 is one of the more highly anticipated Android handsets of the year.
This is because of its predecessor, the Sony Xperia Z1 that was launched last year with great success, thanks in part to its camera which proved to be a pretty amazing feature. In fact the Xperia Z2 looks to continue the trend when its camera was pitted against other models in a low-light photography shootout.
