Sony A3500 Camera Launched

Sony’s Australian site had just listed the launch of the Sony A3500 mirrorless camera, but it would be extremely prudent if one were to approach this particular bit of news with caution. On paper, the Sony A3500 mirrorless camera might seem to be a new addition to the digital camera family, but in reality, it seems to be a minor revamp of the Sony A3000 which was introduced to the masses a mere half a year back, sporting a similar body and specifications including a 20.1-megapixel Exmor APS sensor, Full HD video recording capability and a continuous shooting speed of 3.5fps.

Apart from that, this new model would also cost AUD$499, which is similar to what the A3000 mirrorless camera cost, although if you wanted to select the older model, it is no longer available. There is comfort too, that a spanking new 18-50mm f/4-5.6 lens has been thrown into the mix as well. Of course, who are we to say that there will not be any kind of changes underneath the hood? Footnotes do point to a phase-change focus option that is set to arrive in the form of a future firmware update.

Now all that we need to do is sit tight and wait for a formal announcement to accompany the listing, and we’re as good as gold. Otherwise, it is more like a neither here nor there situation.
