Just last week we saw leaked photos of the Samsung ATIV SE make its way onto the internet. Based on the press renderings, it looked like the phone would be headed onto Verizon’s network, although the question is when?
Well according to the folks at WPCentral, they claim that according to their sources, the Samsung ATIV SE will be launching on Verizon come 18th of April where the handset will retail for $599 off-contract. They did not mention how much the phone would cost on-contract, but they are speculating that $199 could be the asking price.
The Samsung ATIV SE is an interesting handset because in terms of its design, it looks like it has taken cues from its Galaxy siblings and definitely does not look like a Windows Phone. Even the home button looks like one of the Galaxy S devices, just with a Windows logo plastered onto it, but that’s not a bad thing to be honest.
The full specifications of the device have yet to be revealed but one thing is for sure and that is it will come with Windows Phone 8.1 installed. That and the fact that its reported launch is about two weeks after Microsoft’s BUILD conference, where Windows Phone 8.1 is expected to be revealed, lines everything up pretty nicely.
