Samsung makes and sells Android phones like hot cakes, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if most people didn’t know that it actually makes Windows Phone smartphones as well, albeit not as frequently. It has actually been quite a while since Samsung released a new Windows Phone device, and according to recent rumors, it has one up its sleeve that is going to be a Verizon exclusive. Believed to be called the Samsung ATIV SE, recently the smartphone was seen passing through the FCC. Now its press image has surfaced online.
The press image has been leaked by none other than the trusty @evleaks, who has a strong track record of leaking upcoming products. Its quite evident that the smartphone is running Windows Phone. Its believed that this is going to be the first devices that will come with Windows Phone 8.1 pre-installed, a major WP update that Microsoft is expected to release in the next few months.
Design wise it looks like the ATIV SE borrows some design cues from Samsung’s widely successful Galaxy S series. It can be gathered from the leaked press image that this smartphone will have support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Additional details are still murky, but its possible that we’ll come to know more from rumors in the following weeks.
