Root Verizon HTC One M8 Now Possible

Verizon is known as one of the few carriers that don’t like subscribers tinkering with their devices. Big Red often doesn’t want subscribers unlocking bootloaders so it places certain restrictions, though its only a matter of time before someone finds a way. Well known Android developers Justice Case and beaups have developed WeakSauce, a simple tool which can be used to root Verizon HTC One M8. The tool can also be used to root last year’s HTC One.

What WeakSauce essentially does is that it reacquires root each and every time the smartphone is booted up. The process usually takes a minute, so if the phone is switched on and it boots up instantaneously, root will require a minute to be ready nonetheless. Once WeakSauce runs its magic behind the scenes, it will display a notification to let users know that root has been successfully achieved.

The steps are simple too, there aren’t any complicated procedures that users have to follow. Once root is achieved, Chainfire’s SuperSU app needs to be downloaded and installed, the app is easily available on the Google Play Store. Full instructions on how to root Verizon HTC M8 can be found on the XDA Developers forums. This is no permanent root framework for this new device as yet, though things might getter in the future.
