Report Speculates That Lenovo Could Become Second Largest Android OEM

When you think of the brand Lenovo, chances are you probably think of laptops and not necessarily tablets or smartphones, despite the fact that Lenovo has released those types of products in the past. In fact as far as being an Android manufacturer is concerned, we’re not sure if their size might match up to other players in the market, like Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, and so on.

However a recent report from DigiTimes has suggested that it is possible that Lenovo could soon become the second largest Android manufacturer, right behind Samsung. Why and how this is possible? Well apparently Lenovo’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility from Google will play a huge role in helping Lenovo achieve that goal.

The report claims that due to the acquisition and the fact that Motorola is well-known and respected brand will help Lenovo expand and grow in markets around the world. Of course this is merely speculation at this point in time and there really isn’t any concrete proof that Lenovo will be able to achieve this.

Lenovo’s CEO, on the other hand, appears to be fairly optimistic and believes that he will be able to turn things around for the company and make it profitable. We can only hope that is the case but in the meantime, companies such as LG has stated that they are not worried about the acquisition. What do you guys think?
