For those of you who happen to own the NVIDIA Shield handheld gaming console, here is some news for you. It seems that Valve’s Portal is currently in the works for the NVIDIA Shield, and as for the release date, no exact date has been revealed just yet although NVIDIA did mention that the first-person puzzle game will arrive “soon”. “Soon” is the operative keyword here, as it can be relative.
Valve’s marketing director Doug Lombardi shared, “Nvidia has created a very powerful and unique device with Shield. Our companies have a strong history working together and we’re looking forward to Portal’s arrival on Shield.”
Just to recap, NVIDIA Shield comes with a controller as well as an LCD display, where it was introduced to the world in July last year. Before we bid goodbye to 2013, NVIDIA revealed that they will add support for streaming PC games, allowing one to connect the device up to a TV and enjoy Full HD resolution streaming at 60 fps. Among the games that are available on the device will include mobile games on the Android platform, in addition to Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, BioShock Infinite, Crysis 3 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
