The Panasonic Lumix GH4, a digital camera that was first announced at the beginning of February, and has already been priced on a Dutch website for €1,499 a pop, is all set to hit the US, where its pricing details have been revealed as well. The Panasonic Lumix GH4 is a mirrorless camera that is capable of recording 4K video for less than $2,000 – or rather, $1,700 to be exact. Do bear in mind that this will be for the camera body itself only, where underneath the hood you will find a 16MP CMOS Micro Four Thirds sensor, alongside an optional YAGH pro audio/video interface unit that will set those who are interested back by an additional $2,000.
I guess this more or less means that Panasonic has failed to achieve its original intended target of a February roll out, but there are pre-order listings that have already appeared on its website which depicts an estimated ship date of late April. EOSHD.com also confirmed such information from various retailers including the likes of Adorama and B&H, although not all of their webpages have been updated just yet. Are you interested in bringing home the Panasonic Lumix GH4? I suppose it would be wise to get the kind of photography skills to match the hardware.
