Office For iPad Could Get Print Functionality Later

Office for iPad was launched yesterday. For the most part the apps function like its desktop counterpart, although there seems to be one noticeable difference and that is the inability to print. This isn’t because there is problems connecting to a printer or that there is a bug, it is simply because there is no print functionality included at the moment.

This was noticed by the folks at PCWorld who discovered in a support document that there is currently no print feature for the iPad productivity suite. However the question is, will there be one added in the future? After all we’re sure many users would greatly appreciate such functionality, right?

Well according to a vague statement Microsoft has since given, it seems like print functionality could come at a later date. The statement offered no such confirmation but neither did Microsoft deny the possibility either. “Similar to other Microsoft apps (like OneNote for iPad) and the Office 365 service, we provide feature updates based on an ongoing basis. Since launching Office 365 last year, we’ve delivered more than 100 updates to the commercial and consumer services extending the Office 365 subscription value.”

Granted the app was only launched just yesterday and we guess Microsoft is still waiting on feedback before they make changes or add features to it, but what do you guys think? Are you disappointed that there is no print functionality, or does it not bother you at all?
