All we know is that for the most part, most people just aren’t too happy about it. But could their unhappiness of the acquisition be warranted to the point where death threats are issued? According to Oculus VR’s founder, Palmer Luckey, he claims that he and his team have received death threats following the acquisition.
According to a post on Reddit, “We expected a negative reaction from people in the short term, we did not expect to be getting so many death threats and harassing phone calls that extended to our families. We know we will prove ourselves with actions and not words, but that kind of sh** is unwarranted, especially since it is impacting people who have nothing to do with Oculus.”
Facebook has officially reassured gamers that the Oculus Rift would not be rebranded with Facebook’s name or logo. If Instagram is anything to go by, we expect Facebook to keep its word as the app has been largely left untouched except for improvements and UI changes. Either way what do you guys think? Is this going a bit too far?
