If one is of the superstitious kind, then the omens do not look too good for Obamacare, as the website for folks to enroll in U.S. private health insurance did run into some delays early this Monday morning. In fact, it happened a mere hours prior to the deadline for the initial wave of enrollment where the healthcare law is concerned.
Representatives for the Department of Health and Human Services did mention in a statement, that access issues concerning www.HealthCare.gov have been confirmed, and the website’s usual maintenance time had been extended, but did give the assurance along the way that the site itself was “coming back up.”
Folks have until midnight today (Monday) in order to pick up health insurance under Obamacare, which happens to be President Barack Obama’s healthcare law. If you are late in doing so, then you would run the danger of facing fines. It is nice to know that there is some flexibility in the administration as the deadline had been softened in order to pave the way for those who last minute folks who want to apply for coverage by Monday night. What do you think could have been the reason for the website being down temporarily? I guess this is another lesson that we can take home – always do things as early as possible.
