We’re not sure why that is given that there is definitely a lot of interest there. In any case we had to wonder in which markets would the Nokia X eventually land up in. Well the good news for Malaysians is that it looks like Malaysia will be the first country to see the availability of the handset.
Nokia has announced that the Nokia X handset will be making its way to Malaysia and should be available this week. The handset is priced at RM399 which roughly equates to about $121, and will be sold via Nokia dealers throughout the country.
Based on Nokia’s choice of launch, we can only assume that the handset will make its way to other countries in Southeast Asia, and maybe other emerging markets given its low price point.
The handset is not the most powerful Android handset we’ve seen to date, but it should be more than capable of getting the job done and might appeal to those who want a smartphone but don’t necessarily need all the bells and whistles.
