Perhaps back in the day when cameras on smartphones took pretty low quality images, people didn’t really care about the megapixels or the camera technology as much as they do today. Nowadays people are slightly more fussy when it comes to image quality on their phones and features like the ability to capture photos in low-lighting conditions, image stabilization, and so on are important.
Of course sometimes there is some bias going on. Some people genuinely believe their phone is the best for taking photos because they love the brand, so in order to find out which phone truly takes the best photos from an unbiased point of view, the folks at PhoneArena have conducted a blind test with a variety of photos, asking people to vote on which looks best.
It was only after the poll that people were clued in on which phone took which photo and according to the results, it looks like the Nokia Lumia 1520 came in first place with 17.9% of the votes. Second place was the LG G2 with 13.95% followed by the Sony Xperia Z1S in third place with 12.91%.
The iPhone 5s ranked in fifth with the new HTC One M8 trailing behind in sixth place, and in last place was the Google Nexus 5 with only 4.86% of the votes. We have to say that first and second place did not really come as a surprise, although admittedly we would have thought the iPhone would have done better, but what do you guys think? Do you agree with the way the phones have been ranked?
