In just one week, HTC is going to take the stage in New York and London to unveil its 2014 flagship. There have been countless leaks and rumors about the all new HTC One, still information about its pricing and availability is scarce. Recently we picked up on a report claiming that HTC’s new flagship is going to be released by mid-April. The timeframe came from an accessory manufacturer. It appears that in some markets at least the company wants to get its new device out in customers’ hands as soon as possible. Major UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has confirmed that it will start selling the “New HTC One (M8)” just minutes after its officially announced.
Despite the confirmation from a major retailer across the pond, it is not known if this release schedule will be carried over to the U.S. as well. One can expect all major mobile operators here to carry HTC’s new flagship, but it is unclear right now if they too will be willing to start selling the phone almost immediately after its announcement.
Even if this is just limited to the UK, HTC does get a leg up on Samsung. The Galaxy S5 is going to be released in over 100 countries come April 11th. If its able to get the New HTC One out in more markets on March 25th, HTC was have almost a two week head start on its competitor.
