From a purely marketing standpoint, it makes sense and is possibly good business when you take into consideration that the hashtag #PrayforMH370 has already been tweeted for over 1.8 million times since word concerning MH370 went dark first broke out. However, to monetize the flow of traffic in such a manner is not exactly the most tasteful thing around. In fact, the eBay auction for the domain mentioned that budding for this could be advantageous, citing, “Buy this domain today and sell it later on for thousands of dollars. Dozens of companies, families of victims, will want to buy it from you. Pay little money today and make huge profit tomorrow.”
It is nice to see that the world has enough class to avoid this sale, where the auction closed without it being sold.
