Gaming on our mobile phones has certainly come a long way from titles such as Sudoku and Snake which were some of the only options that mobile phones had back in the day. Nowadays we’re playing games with impressive graphics, like the Infinity Blade franchise, N.O.V.A 3, and Shadowgun just to name a few.
There are smartphone users out there who treat their mobile phone as portable consoles, so the question is which smartphone should one use if they wanted to play games on? Naturally one’s mind might gravitate to the latest hardware, but surprisingly last year’s Nokia Lumia 1520 managed to be crowned instead.
This is according to Basemark’s recent benchmarking scores which puts the Lumia 1520 ahead of everyone else. Interestingly enough some of the top 5 devices are devices that many might not have even considered, like the ASUS PadFone Infinity 2, the Pantech Vega Secret Note, and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy S5 managed to nab the number 2 spot, which interestingly enough packs the latest processor from Qualcomm in the form of the Snapdragon 801. Perhaps the Galaxy S5 with the Exynos 5 variant might do better?
What do you guys think? Are you surprised that the Lumia 1520 Windows Phone handset managed to beat out the rest of the Android competition?
