LG Knock Code To Arrive On LG G2 And G Flex

We did share with you on how LG intends to introduce their special KnockOn feature to the L Series II range of smartphones later this month, and here we are with the South Korean consumer electronics giant announcing that the Knock Code feature will also be made available in earlier LG smartphone models through a firmware update beginning from this April. Basically, those who own the LG G2 and LG G Flex in select countries will have the privilege of enjoying the Knock Code update that enables users to access their smartphones via a customized “knock” pattern, instead of the usual unlocking methods.

We did share our experience with the Knock Code when we took the LG G Pro 2 out for a spin, and came away rather impressed by the entire setup, as it made unlocking a handset all the more easy. Recent consumer research did point out that majority of smartphone users check and unlock their devices between 100 and 150 times a day on average, which is why Knock Code was developed.

With LG Knock Code, the user will tap or “knock” anywhere from two to eight times in the quadrants in a specific sequence so that their device can be unlocked, leaving you with over 80,000 possible combinations without any of the pesky fingerprint streaks. [Press Release]
