In fact this was “proven” recently thanks to a UA profile sighting which “confirms” the resolution, and a recently leaked screenshot which also hints at the device’s QHD display. However while the phone might pack a QHD resolution, what about the rest of its specs? What else do we know about the handset?
Well according to the folks at PhoneArena, they claim to have gotten a tip over the weekend which apparently told them that the phone could pack a 5.5-inch display, which they’re speculating could be based on a display that LG showed off last year which was a 5.5-inch display with a QHD resolution.
Apart from the screen size, possible chipset details have also emerged, thanks to recently leaked benchmark results. According to the benchmarks, it has been suggested that the LG G3 could be powered by MediaTek’s MT6595 chipset which the company’s most powerful octa-core processor to date.
This chipset is also said to be based on the ARM big.LITTLE architecture which will see four Cortex A17 cores paired with four Cortex A7 cores which will be used for tasks that might not necessarily need that much power. It’s interesting that LG could be turning to MediaTek for supply of its chipsets since we heard that LG could be using their own Odin chipsets for the LG G3.
In any case nothing has been officially announced yet, but with rumors suggesting that the LG G3 could be announced as soon as June 2014, we guess we will only have a few more months of waiting in order to find out if the rumors pan out. In the meantime what do you guys think? It really sounds the the LG G3 is shaping up to be quite a powerful device.
