ios-7

Its not like there already haven’t been a whole lot of rumors about iOS 7.1 release, but the latest comes from a source with a solid track record. Previously we had heard that Apple is going to release iOS 7.1 in March. Over the past few months the firmware has been going through beta stage, and it appears that all testing has finally been completed. Daring Fireball’s John Gruber suggests that the new iTunes Festival application requires iOS 7.1, the app needs to be released before next Friday as its going to be used to stream the iTunes Festival, this means that iOS 7.1 is going to be rolled out before that.

if this is true, the entire rumor hinges on the new app’s need for iOS 7.1, then we could very well see a release within the next couple of days. Apple would want to release it at least a few days before next Tuesday so that everyone has a chance to download and install iOS 7.1. When such a major firmware update like iOS 7.1 is released, the surge in traffic slows download times for everyone, it takes a couple of days for millions of iOS device users to get their devices on the latest release.

The upcoming release is expected to bring a couple of new features and some minor tweaks to the user interface. It obviously won’t bring anything truly groundbreaking, for that we might have to wait until WWDC 2014, when Apple is expected to unveil iOS 8.
