The HTC Desire 816 does seem as though it is shaping up to be a fairly decent mid-range handset, where we have already gotten our hands-on for a quick review. Well, it also looks set to make waves in the world’s most populous country, with earlier word that the HTC Desire 816 had picked up 450,000 pre-orders in China being trumped by the latest word that it has surpassed the magical 1 million pre-order mark, something that the Nokia X allegedly achieved last week, too.
Apparently, HTC’s Weibo account did point out the news that the HTC Desire 816 had already arrived at the magical 1 million mark terms of in pre-orders. Which would be the correct figure? After all, the Nokia X’s final figures were somewhat “tarnished” as it was found out later, but considering how HTC’s share price did rise some bit with the earlier 450,000 pre-order figure, perhaps this too, might be a similar catalyst in the share price.
Basically, HTC Desire 816’s 1 million pre-orders are as concrete as the Nokia X’s. After all, HTC did call it a “0 Yuan pre-order”, so with no money down, you can simply walk away from it without buying. Technically speaking still a pre-order, but the spirit of it isn’t.
