However it seems that they were met with resistance from the likes of Google’s Larry Page and the Google engineering team which might have explained that apart from the Moto X and the Moto G, we did not really see anything else from the company.
This is according to a recent report from The Information where they claimed that Motorola had originally wanted to work closely with the Google team that developed natural language processing technologies. Motorola’s plan was to integrate that technology into their hardware which would make it easier to use.
However the report claims that Page wasn’t too enthused about the idea of working too closely with Motorola as they felt it would strain the relationship between them and their other Android OEM partners. The Google team also weren’t that enthused about it as well since they apparently did not view Motorola as very important.
Things could soon be changing as Lenovo has recently announced that they would be acquiring Motorola Mobility from Google. The company has also announced that they will be turning things around, with Lenovo’s CEO believing that he will be able to make Motorola profitable in a relatively short amount of time.
