However recently we have also caught wind of how the Chromecast could soon make its way to the UK and sure enough it has, along with 10 other countries as announced by Google on its Chrome Blog.
According to the post, the 11 new countries that Google Chromecast will roll out to includes: Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the U.K. It also seems that some countries will also be receive region-specific apps, such as BBC iPlayer for the UK; France TV Pluzz and SFR TV for France; and Watchever in Germany.
There will be additional apps that will make its way onto Chromecast later, such as CANALPLAY for France and Maxdome for Germany. Given that Google has also opened up Chromecast to developers, owners of the device can also look forward to additional apps down the line.
The Chromecast will be available starting today from retailers such as Amazon, Google Play, and other regional retailers, so you should probably keep an eye out for them if you want to get your hands on the device.
