Apparently, Google representatives have agreed to fork out between $10,000 and $12,000 each month in order to lease a pier that is located next to port warehouses on Rough and Ready Island, according to Port Director Richard Aschieris. Google has also agreed to fork out money for the port’s standard dockage fee for at least one quarter, although the lease could eventually be shorter or longer, as it depends on Google’s construction schedule. Needless to say, the Google Barge happens to be one of the more unique “visitors” over to Stockton, and Aschieris is pleased to have it around. If you’re in Stockton, how do you view the presence of the Google Barge there?
