When it comes to cameras, for the most part they tend to look pretty boring. They usually come in black, brown, or silver finishes which usually gives off a very somber look, unless you’re talking about Lomo cameras in which it’s a whole different story.
In some way cameras can be thought of as a fashion accessory, especially if you were to sling it around your neck. Now the good news is that if you were sick of cameras looking so dull and boring, Fujifilm UK has launched a new customization service for Fuji X cameras that allows photographers to customize how their cameras look.
One of the examples is shown in the screenshot above where photographers will be able to pick from different leather and color options, so for photographers who want their cameras to stand out, they can go for a more bolder and vivid color, like red or blue.
This customization service will be offered to both would-be customers and photographers who already own Fuji X cameras, meaning that they won’t have to buy a new camera if they wish to partake in this customization.
Unfortunately it looks like the service is limited to the UK market for now, but no word on whether Fujifilm might decide to expand it overseas. Perhaps they might depending on how well-received the program in the UK is, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled anyway. In the meantime what do you guys think of this feature? Would you like to have a more customized and thus more unique camera? Or are you happy with the way things are?
