In any case safe to say that a potentially great game has been marred by the various bugs that have been plaguing the game ever since. Will EA ever be able to shake off this bad image and move on? Well EA certainly seems to think so, and they believe that despite Battlefield 4’s flaws, it has not damaged the Battlefield brand.
Speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media &, Telecom Conference in San Francisco this week (via GameSpot), EA’s exec Blake Jorgensen blamed the game’s complexity for its issues, and stated that he has not seen any damage to the Battlefield brand so far.
Jorgensen goes on to state, “We’ve also tried to provide extra content to the consumers to make sure they keep coming back and playing the game and we’re finding that it’s working very well. I don’t see that there’s a damage issue. I think for us it’s making sure that we’re providing great gameplay for the consumer and we’ll continue to do that.”
What do you guys think? Are gamers out there in agreement that Battlefield 4 is just one of EA’s hiccups and that future games will be better? Or do you think that Battlefield 4 is just a sign of things to come in future Battlefield titles? Either way we certainly hope EA has learnt something from the backlash they have received and put out better titles in the future.
