Das Keyboard 4 With Multimedia Controls Unveiled

Keyboards come in all shapes and sizes and they all use different types of key switches. For the most part, most keyboards feature either the scissor-type switch or the rubber dome switch. Both are perfectly fine, although typists and gamers out there might tend to prefer keyboards with mechanical switches.

They claim that these keyboards feel more responsive and the clacking sound of the keys is actually pretty comforting and nice to hear. We guess it differs from user to user, and at the end of the day it really is down to personal preference. That being said, if you’re after a mechanical keyboard, Das Keyboard has recently announced the Das Keyboard 4 with multimedia controls, as pictured above.

In the past, Das Keyboard’s releases have typically been very simplistic and minimal, although with the Das Keyboard 4, they have added multimedia keys for media control playback including what appears to be a volume dial to adjust volume. Das Keyboard has also swapped out the plastic feet for a magnetic footbar that doubles up as a ruler as well.

The rest of the keyboard appears similar to the company’s previous releases. This means that users can look forward to a Ultimate edition which comes with blank keys, or the Professional version which is your traditional layout. There will be two switches to choose from: Cherry MX Blue for a more clicky feel, or Cherry MX Brown for something less clicky. The keyboards will be priced at $169 and $173 respectively.
