For the past few weeks the folks at OnePlus have been giving bits and pieces of information about OnePlus One, the company’s first smartphone. Its specifications rival flagships from major manufacturers like HTC and Samsung. On the software front, it will be powered by Android, which will be heavily customized by the Cyanogen team. The team is behind popular CyanogenMod ROMs which are used by millions of Android users around the world. Today purported screenshots of CyanogenMod 11S for OnePlus One have leaked, the build is said to be exclusive to this smartphone.
The lockscreen is a lot different from CyanogenMod ROMs that are available for a wide variety of Android smartphones. It looks much cleaner, and doesn’t include the usual unlock slider. Clock, day, date, weather, notifications and battery level are all displays over a solid color background.
About phone screenshot reveals that CyanogenMod 11S is based on Android 4.4.2, the most recent iteration of Google’s mobile platform. It also confirms that the smartphone won’t have physical buttons, instead it will have three virtual Android buttons on the display itself.
OnePlus has confirmed that it is going to unveil the smartphone on April 23rd. So far it hasn’t offered a glimpse of the device, so we’re really curious about the design. The company has said that its first smartphone will sell for under $400 unlocked and off-contract. [Images via Engadget]
