Released late last year, the Chromecast turned out to be one of Google’s most popular products in 2013. The nifty little dongle lets users stream content from various device to their TV. All they need to do is plug in the $35 dongle into the HDMI port on their TV. Even the company itself said that demand for Chromecast had been underestimated. Up till now the dongle has only been sold in the U.S. However its global launch is expected soon. Rumor has it that the Chromecast UK launch is finally going to take place on March 19.
Only recently a top Google executive had said that Chromecast is going to be launched in more countries. UK is believed to be the first country outside of the U.S. to get the dongle. While it is unclear if it would be sold through the Play Store, rumor has it that two of the biggest retailers in the country are going to put the dongle on their shelves come March 19th.
Screenshot of an internal listing from retailer Dixons reveals that Chromecast will be officially launched on March 19th. However the listing doesn’t provide a price, and Google itself hasn’t said exactly how much the dongle will cost outside the U.S., particularly in the UK. Fortunately, its less than a week away, so Chromecast fans across the pond don’t really have to wait that long.
