BBM or BlackBerry Messenger has been in the news quite a lot recently. Ever since it was opened up to Android and iOS last year, the messaging service has added millions of new users as well a handful of new features. Only recently BBM v2.0 was released which brought location sharing and more. The company has now detailed what the next major update is going to bring, users can once again expect multiple new features from the next release of BlackBerry Messenger.
Taking a page out of Line’s book, BlackBerry has announced that the new BBM Shop will include stickers. They have been a very popular feature on Line, so it quite likely that BBM users will appreciate them as well. Another major feature being added to the next release is the ability to send pictures to multiple people in a chat. Already users can share their location in multi-person chats, share files from Dropbox as well as voice notes, soon they will be able to send photos in multi-person chats as well.
File size limit in BBM is also going to be increase. Historically it has always been at 6MB, though in the next release, it is going to be bumped up to 16MB, which means that users will be able to send a 16 second 1080p HD clip taken with the BlackBerry Z30 through BBM. After listening to feedback from users, BlackBerry has also increased the size of the emoticons slightly. The company hasn’t revealed when the next major BBM update is going to be released.
