However a follow-up report suggested that Google was putting pressure on ASUS to kill off the product because they did not like Android having to share the same device as Windows, especially since both are competing against one another.
Now according to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal, they claim to have gotten their hands on a memo which revealed that not only was Google putting pressure on ASUS, but Microsoft as well, which has led to the company dropping their plans for said device. It seems that Microsoft does not appreciate sharing a device either.
In fact the memo states that ASUS will also be putting a halt on the sales of a pair of dual-OS all-in-one PCs that it launched last year as well. This can’t be good news for ASUS who has probably spent a fair bit of time and money into creating these products, but since both Google and Microsoft are such huge names and because ASUS’ products tend to run either Windows or Android, we’re sure that these are two companies that ASUS does not want to tick off.
Assuming that the reports are true, we can only assume that Google and Microsoft will soon be turning their attention to Huawei next, who has recently been rumored to be planning a handset that will dual boot Android and the Windows Phone platform as well.
