Apple Could Ship Two iPhones Of Different Sizes, But Not At The Same Time [Analyst]

iphone6-2Without a doubt Apple will be releasing a new iPhone later this year. The name of the new iPhone, its specs, and its design is pretty much up in the air at the moment, although there are rumors floating about that suggests that the phone could come in two sizes: a 4.7-inch iPhone and a 5.5-inch iPhone.

We guess this move would allow Apple to allow its customers to decide if they want a bigger phone or a smaller phone, although we’re not sure if customers might end up neglecting the 4.7-inch model in favor of the larger one, putting Apple into another iPhone 5c situation again. However according to Steve Milunovich, an analyst for UBS, he thinks that Apple will launch phones with different sizes, but just not at the same time.

As it stands there is still uncertainty surrounding the larger iPhone, although for the most part it seems that the 4.7-inch model has been “confirmed”. Milunovich estimates that based on his supply chain checks overseas, the 4.7-inch model could ship around August/September, which seems to be in line with Apple’s iPhone launches.

However like we said, there is still uncertainty surrounding the 5.5-inch model which is what led Milunovich to conclude that if Apple were to release the larger model, it might be done at a later point in time. He also expects that if Apple were to release a larger model, it would keep the same resolution as the smaller model, meaning its pixel density will be lesser.

We have also heard the rumors that Pegatron will be joining Foxconn in helping assemble the next-gen iPhone. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of Apple launching two iPhones at once with different screen sizes? Good or bad idea?
