Its safe to say that Verizon subscribers won’t have forgotten what happened last year. Big Red was the last major U.S. carrier to release the HTC One. It was rather late to the party, making subscribers wait until August even after rival carriers had already released the smartphone a few months back. There exists a possibility that history won’t repeat itself this time around. With HTC due to announce the All New HTC One on March 25th, its possible that Verizon may release the smartphone on that very day, at 1 p.m. EDT.
Big Red hasn’t officially confirmed this, so its best to keep an open mind at this stage. According to a “trusted” source, Verizon is actually going to have dibs on the All New HTC One as far as U.S. carriers are concerned. This would mean that HTC’s 2014 flagship is going to be a Verizon exclusive for at least two weeks, before other major carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile release their variants.
Pricing still hasn’t been revealed, we will have to wait for word from Verizon on that. It won’t surprise anyone if Verizon does release it on the day HTC announces it. Major retailers across the pond in the UK have already confirmed that they will start selling the HTC flagship “minutes after” its announced.
