Samsung today has finally eased the pain for millions of U.S. consumers that have been waiting for Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Google launched KitKat late last year, the first crop of smartphones and tablets to receive said update were from its Nexus lineup. Since then quite a few manufacturers have rolled out the update for select devices, though Samsung hadn’t formally laid down its U.S. roadmap until today. With updates rolling out today and continuing over the coming months, the company has revealed all devices that will be updated to the latest iteration of Android.

Select carrier variants of Samsung Galaxy U.S. devices will receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, though the availability will vary by carrier and product. Just yesterday a pre-release build of the Android 4.4.2 update for Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 was leaked online, though there won’t be any need for leaked builds in the very near future. Supported devices set to receive the update soon include the Galaxy Note 3, Note 2, Galaxy S4, S4 mini, S4 Active, S4 Zoom, Galaxy S3, S3 mini, Galaxy Mega, Galaxy Light, Galaxy Note 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3, Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Apart from all the bells and whistles that Android 4.4 brings, the update will also bring enhanced messaging, updated core Google applications as well as an integrated location menu that lets users easily activate GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks.
