Just over a week back T-Mobile started conducting a soak test of Android 4.4.2 for its Moto X. The process involves rolling out the new firmware update to a select few people who then try out said update to ensure that no bugs or issues remain to be fixed before the firmware is finally rolled out to the public. Once an update reaches the soak test step, its public release is expected within a couple of weeks. That’s exactly the timeline this particular update has followed, today the T-Mobile Moto X Android 4.4.2 update has finally been released.

Weighing in at 146MB, the update brings support for printing photos, Google Docs, Gmail messages as well as other content over Wi-FI and through hosted services like HP ePrinters and Google Cloud Print. This update also brings a bug for that adversely affected battery life after some customers updated to Android 4.4 KitKat. A bug that caused email services such as Microsoft Exchange to experience delays in data synchronization has also been fixed. If you happen to have a T-Mobile Moto X, you should receive an update notification automatically. Even if you don’t, keeping in mind that this is a phased release after all, do try mashing the update button a few times in order to make your device pull the latest firmware update.
