SwiftKey For Nokia X Will Be Available Free Of Charge

The Google Play Store is full of custom Android keyboards but only few are as well known as SwiftKey, which bills itself as the “world’s smartest predictive keyboard.” This premium keyboard, which costs $3.99 on the Play Store, is certainly a popular choice with Android users. Those who switch to Nokia’s new Android phones will fortunately be getting SwiftKey for free.

At Mobile World Congress 2014 Nokia has finally unveiled its much awaited Android phones, three models have been launched as part of the Nokia X lineup. SwiftKey has confirmed that the keyboard will be listed for free on the Nokia Store for the Nokia X, and any future devices that connect to the Nokia Store. Apart from offering three different themes, SwiftKey on Nokia X also includes SwiftKey Cloud support, which automatically backs up users’ typing history. Obviously it remains to be seen if users do opt for this alternative keyboard in great numbers over the native keyboard in Nokia’s highly forked iteration of Android, though it would certainly be good to have a second option available at absolutely no extra charge. In a statement provided to The Verge, the company said that its product to be part of this “next stage in Nokia’s journey.”
