Sony Xperia Z2 Sole Flagship Status Is Not For Long (Rumor)
The Sony Xperia Z2 that was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, just earlier this week, is no doubt the latest flagship smartphone from the folks over at Sony. Well, it might seem as though a flagship device would keep its “position” within the company for a year or so, such as the iPhone from Apple and the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S5. Things might be done differently over at Sony, however, as Sony Mobile’s Creative Director, Director of Product Planning and UX General Manager, Yoshiro Kurozumi, shared on how he figured out that a half yearly upgrade cycle would be a whole lot more beneficial to the industry.
Kurozumi also did mention that maintaining a the flagship status of a particular product is not a cheap or easy move, as one will constantly need to introduce upgrades in order to keep up with the rest of the Joneses. He further confirmed that the Sony Xperia Z2 will in all likelihood be Sony’s sole flagship throughout the first half of this year.
