The camera will also come with Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization with Intelligent Active Mode which Sony claims will offer up a more smoother and stable video recording experience. The HX400V has also been designed to resemble a DSLR camera, so for those who like the larger grip and DSLR-like controls, we reckon this camera should do the trick. It will also come with WiFi and NFC connectivity to allow for the wireless transfer of photos and videos, and will also come with Full HD 1080p video capture at 60p, 60i, and 24p frame rates. It will also feature an ISO range from 80 up to 3,200, a 3-inch XtraFine LCD display, and a battery capable of about 300 shots. Unfortunately pricing and availability was not mentioned.
If you’re in the market for a new zoom camera, Sony might have something for you in the form of the DSC-H400. The camera will feature a zoom lens with an aperture of f/3.4-6.5 and will range from 24.5mm-1,550mm in 4:3 still mode, 29.2mm-1,949mm in movie mode, 27mm-1,700mm in 16:9 still mode, and 32.1mm-2,029mm in 16:9 movie mode. The camera will also sport a DSLR-like design with a large grip making it easy to hold and could appeal to photographers who might prefer this sort of design compared to the “flatter” compact camera designer, although we’re guessing that this camera will not go into your pockets nicely.
The H400 will also pack a 1/2.3-inch Super HAD CCD 20.1MP sensor, an ISO range of 80 up to 3,200 which is admittedly not too high, as well as movie recording at 720p HD quality, which once again isn’t exactly too impressive given that most cameras these days are capable of capturing Full HD. Then again the high zoom is probably the camera’s selling point here, so if you’re after a high zoom camera and aren’t too fussed about recording movies, then we reckon that the H400 should be more than capable of getting the job done and then some. The H400 will also come with Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization, a 3-inch LCD display, and a battery that is good for about 300 photos. Unfortunately pricing and availability have yet to be determined.
