Skype has been quite the VoIP app that has plenty of staying power over the years, and I am quite sure that many happily married couples today have had the privilege of using this particular app in the past to keep in touch, especially when they are separated by thousands of miles. “Have Internet, will Skype” could be the mantra for the connected generation. Well, here we are with word that Skype will be offering an app that has been fully customized for the recently introduced Nokia X family, although it has been reported that the Nokia X is not going to make its way over to the U.S.
This could very well be a bummer for those who have been excited by the possibilities that the Nokia X is able to offer. Lara Kingwell, Skype Product Marketing Manager, shared, “We’re seeing more and more people have their first Skype experience on a mobile phone. For us, mobile is part of Skype and hugely important to the way we think about the future.” This customized version of an Android app for the Nokia X family will also boast of specifically designed features, where among them include notifications appearing in Fastlane, customized Livetiles which lets you resize and position them around the Start screen, among others.
