Panasonic FZ-E1 Runs On Windows Embedded 8 Handheld

[MWC 2014] Panasonic has made a return to the smartphone scene, although their most recent release will be far from a crowd puller since it runs on Windows Embedded 8 Handheld as the mobile operating system of choice. Yes sir, no Android, Windows Phone 8, Firefox OS and obviously not iOS, but Windows Embedded 8 Handheld. I am quite sure that this is the first time for some to have heard of this particular mobile operating system. Windows Embedded devices tend to lean more towards the enterprise side of things, and with the introduction of the Panasonic FZ-E1, let us check out after the jump to see what it is capable of delivering.

You can be pretty sure that the Panasonic FZ-E1 is not going to be a pretty sight by any means, where it sports a 5” display with a 1280 x 720 resolution, running on a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor that has been clocked at 2.3GHz. Apart from that, it will be accompanied by 2GB RAM and has 32GB of internal memory, with an 8MP shooter at the back alongside a 1.3MP camera in front for those good looking selfies. A whopping 6,200 mAh battery capacity would certainly be its strong suit, and it is also one tough handset thanks to MIL-STD-810G military rating that enables it to survive a drop from 3 meters and remain submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to half an hour.
