Nokia Normandy/Nokia X Specs “Confirmed”
It is no secret that Nokia has an Android phone in the works called the Nokia Normandy, a surprising move by the Finnish company who is on the cusp of being acquired by Microsoft. That being said, what sort of hardware specs can we expect from the device? Based on previous rumors, it would suggest that the handset is a particularly low-end affair, which is surprising as we would have thought Nokia would have gone all out for their possibly one and only Android device. Unfortunately it looks like it will be a low-end handset, as it has been recently “confirmed” by @evleaks who revealed the specs of the handset on his Twitter account.
According to @evleaks, it seems that we can look forward to the Nokia Normandy packing a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD, a 5MP rear-facing camera, and a 1.500mAh battery. It will also run on a forked version of Android, similar to how Amazon has their own forked version of Android on their Kindle Fire tablets. Of course if you believe the rumors, it would suggest that Nokia has more Android devices up their sleeves, so if the Normandy is just the first of many to come, hopefully we will see a more powerful version down the road. Either way we expect Nokia to make the announcement at MWC 2014, so check back with us then for the details!
