Nexus 6 Relies On 64-bit 8-Core Snapdragon 810 (Rumor)
Now, it might seem rather premature to say this, but the alleged Nexus 6 (which will be a Google device for sure) is all set to arrive with a 64-bit 8-core Snapdragon 810 chipset, at least according to the folks over at Digitimes who have cited a new report that hailed from China’s Economic Daily News. It was mentioned that the Snapdragon 810 will arrive some time in the second half of next year, where the chipset is said to boast of a whopping 8-cores that will run in an ARM big.LITTLE configuration, allowing it to merge both speed and battery efficiency in a single form factor.
Half of the 8 cores will be ARM Cortex-A57 CPUs, while the remaining four will be Cortex-A53 CPUs. And to think that all of that will allegedly be part of the next Nexus device, which has been rumored to be the Nexus 6. Needless to say, this rumored device is not tipped to arrive until October this year at the very earliest, so such a premature rumor might be stillborn by the time October rolls around, or it could prove to be an uncanny prediction. If only there are leaked benchmarks of the Snapdragon 810, now that would certainly be something worth checking out.
