According to the report (via DigiTimes), “The report said the iWatch will come equipped with a flexible AMOLED display and 3D protective glass. The rumors also speculated that the iWatch will use silver nanowire touch screen technology developed by TPK in conjunction with Japan-based Nissha Printing.” While a flexible display would make sense if Apple wanted the iWatch to appeal to a variety of wrist sizes without appearing too clunky, it should be noted that publications like China Times and DigiTimes do not necessarily have the best track record when it comes to rumors.
We’re not saying that it is impossible that Apple might explore curved displays, it’s just that it seems a little unlikely and does feel like quite a huge shift from the previous rumors. In any case we can’t even say for sure if the device exists, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of an iWatch with a flexible display? Yay or nay?
