Apple has just seeded iOS 7.1 beta 5 to developers. The latest beta firmware has been seeded precisely two weeks after iOS 7.1 beta 4 was released on January 20th. This major firmware update has been in the beta stage for quite some time now, its expected to bring a few new features as well as various improvements and enhancements for the user interface.
One particular major feature that iOS 7.1 is expected to bring is iOS in the Car. This feature was first unveiled back at WWDC 2013, it essentially the extension of Apple’s mobile operating system to a vehicle’s in-dash display. Several car makers have already committed to supporting iOS in the Car in some of their 2014 models. Apple is expected to finally switch on this feature in iOS 7.1. No word as yet when this update is going to be released to the public, though seeing how far along in the beta stage it is right now, one can presume that its only a matter of weeks before iOS 7.1 is released to the public. For now, only registered developers can get their hands on the beta firmware. Since its not meant for the public, there’s no point in trying to install it on your iOS device by downloading IPSW files from third party file sharing services, you’ll probably run into more than a few issues.
