HTC One For AT&T Receives Android 4.4 KitKat Update
T-Mobile users were probably gloating just last week when the carrier released Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the HTC One, but it looks like the gloating period is over as AT&T has announced on their blog that the Android 4.4 KitKat update will be rolling out to their HTC One customers this week, starting from today. The carrier has announced that HTC One users can look forward to the update starting from today, so if you’re a HTC One user on AT&T’s network, you might want to keep an eye out for the update which weighs in a little over 600MB, although AT&T has advised that you have at least 50% battery while installing the update just in case your phone dies mid-update which could prove troublesome.
According to AT&T, the update will introduce the usual Android KitKat improvements and changes, like an improved user interface. The update will also bring about a new phone dialer app that allows for users to look for contacts directly from the dialer itself. There will also be caller ID where the phone will attempt to look for businesses with a local listing should you receive a call from a number not saved in your phone. There will also be a new HTC Sense 5.5 UI introduced with the update, and the new HTC BlinkFeed app. For those who are too impatient, you can attempt to manually pull the update by going to your phone’s Settings, About Phone, System Updates, Select Download.
